69 F250 PS cooler
I am contemplating installing a finned cooler from a 70 F250 onto my 69 F250 that is equipped with the Bendix PS setup. Is this worthwhile? My understanding is that the Bendix box is prone to overheating though admittedly I have not had an overheating problem. Comments?

Re: 69 F250 PS cooler
I have both the Bendix steering box and headers in my 69 CS. I did put some of the DEI heat tape all over the gear box to help reduce the heat because the header pipe is so darn close to the box itself. What I can't say is if it's really overheating or just hotter than normal. Drove the truck through Palm Springs and Indio a couple of weeks ago in 100+ degree weather and there were no issues. Was it because of the DEI, can't prove one way or the other. I did buy an external cooler that I should install but haven't yet. Before I start using the truck for more heavy duty/towing applications the cooler will probably go on for insurance.

I was tired of scraping my knuckles on that finned cooler so I used a cooler from a dent side truck. They are conveniently hidden down lower by the front frame rail. http://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.ford-tr ... 61da70.jpg
