I've seen a few project threads where guys have notched their frames, but I haven't seen much detail specifically about the notch. I'm ready to start on mine and I'm trying to find a kit out there that would make the process easier. I have never notched a frame, but I am not new to fabrication. Basically if I can find a good kit that will save me time id probably be better off.
Strength is my main priority. I intend to pull trailers with my truck, nothing super heavy, but if I need to hook onto a boat I want it to handle it.
If I need to build it myself, that's fine, I just want to see what you guys have done and what you might do differently next time.

Look for threads by Bobby Ford, I'm pretty sure he notched his and gave pretty detailed information on how he did it.
