Hey all. Reaching out for advice. Got the 69 F250 camper special. Hadn’t had any leak issues, but drove it in second gear had a high rpm for about five minutes the other day, and the leak appeared. Got a somewhat steady, drip leak coming from the bell housing of the C6. Tranny fluid is clear. checked the dipstick, O-ring, and the pan, no sources of a leak coming from either of those. Assuming it’s the front pump seal? Called around and found a local specialist. Says in order to fix he would need to rebuild The tranny. Previous owner had stated the tranny was rebuilt a couple years ago. Haven’t had any shifting problems etc. Is this the normal path? It’s above my pay grade repair-wise. Second issue, is the AC. I tracked it down to perhaps a bad clutch on the York compressor. It’s been converted to 134. The clutch is slipping a bit and wondering if that is something handled by the professionals as well? Ballpark cost? the third issue is the wipers not parking. I have high speed, but no park and no low. Assuming that it’s the motor as the switch has been replaced and is good. Probably a contact in the motor? My fourth issue, not really an issue, but wondering , if I should switch it over to electronic ignition? It’s running OK with the points. But wondering what a conversion would cost? And what that entails? Thanks in advance for any of the replies and all the help. This form rocks. I’ve done a decent search, but still haven’t found the opinions I’m looking for primarily on cost ball parks.

Can you get in touch with the original rebuilder? does it just drip or pour out steady ?
Before I'd put a bunch of money in it I'd try a bottle Lucas transmission fix.

Electronic ignition is always a good upgrade.
especially with todays with inferior parts.
but points work ok on a stock truck.

Thanks for the reply. Just a drip right now. I've read good things about the sealant--and bad things.

The rebuilder may have cut corners, the front seal is the only weakness in a C6, and the bushing should be replaced when the seal is changed, if not, the seal won't last. An old school mechanic can fix what you have, but many shops just swap for a rebuilt unit, cheaper than tearing down.
I recently had a bushing turn in the oil pump, '84 C6 rebuilt with crappy Chinese parts. When it turned, it moved forward and blocked the drainback hole, causing a major leak. I had to replace the pump and bushing, but the new one fit tight, and has sealed so far.
