69 F100 shortbed

Post by dobrosailor »

...so I went to buy an old Triumph Motorcycle and this F100 followed me home. Having a great time with it.

Couple questions, in the image below, does anyone have any idea what this steering wheel in the photo below came out of. I am grafting a '68 mustang collapsible steering column out of my parts pile into this truck to get rid of the 3 on the tree column for now since it has a granny tranny now. I want to see how the horn button was painted out of the factory and cannot ID it after searching the Inet for hours on several occasions.

2) My truck needs the rubbers replaced on what I would call a strut rod on my Mustang. Does the IBEAM suspension use the same names? If I buy strut rod rubbers for a 69 F100 will it be for the end of the links under the front of the cab that stop the front end from moving forward and aft? I have a manual coming but Amazon has notified me my 1 day delivery has become; "you'll get it when we are good and ready for you to have it".

3) If I wanted to go back to the three on the tree so iconic for 60s cars and the ultimate antitheft device available ;o) - I have an old threespeed with overdrive out of a 55 crown vic, does anyone know if the overdrive can be grafted onto a post 65 synchro first 3 speed?

The steering wheel may have been in a early 60s truck.
instead of struts , they're called radius arms.
I can't help you with the overdrive.

Oh and welcome to our site. :wel:

Steering wheel looks to be from a f500 or bigger of the same era. The center of horn button is painted a flat black in the circle and letters are not painted. At least that's what I've seen.
