I finally decided to stop by the bone yard on the way home from work this afternoon to look around and take a few photos. I spotted a lwb step side right away. Then I saw this blue truck. It looked pretty interesting so I took it's photo. After I walked up to it I started to notice that the grille wasn't damaged. Then I realized someone had put this '68 steel grille on their '71. I didn't have the proper tools to remove it. I had a 1/2 inch wrench and a small adjustable wrench. Two guys walked up looking for a steering box and asked me if I needed help to remove the grille. They proceeded to unbolt it with two 1/2 inch socket ratchets. It cost about $33.00 with tax. I think the '68 steel grille is my favourite of all '67-'72 grilles.
Saw a nice shiny dent free 69 grill on the Charlotte NC Craigslist the other day with the asking price of $650! Not a NOS but a survivor grill. I guess he has done some homework and thinks he'll get that for it. I need to look and see if it sold for that or if it is still listed
